Kovalam Beaches

a) Lighthouse Beach
The Lighthouse beach in Kovalam is southern part of Kovalam beaches and is one of the hot attractions present at the beaches. The Vizhinjam lighhouse is situated near this beach and that is the main reason behind the naming of this beach as light house beach. The beam of light that comes out from the lighthouse during the night decorates the beaches and offers an amazing beauty and charm for your eyes to watch.

b) Hawah Beach
Hawah beach is also known as Eve’s beach is another major travel spot of the Kovalam beaches. The calm blue sea water and the rocky surroundings makes the Hawah beach more beautiful and is considered to be the best place to sit and enjoy the amazing beauty of the beach. In the evenings, the moonlight makes the Hawah beach appear more beautiful and thereby attracting a good number of tourists.

c)Samudra Beach
Samudra beach ranks third among the beaches of Kerala and appears more calm and you can also feel the scarcity of tourists and crowds when compared with the other two beaches of Kovalam. The Samudra beach is well known for its fishermen community and you can see the fishermen at work and going for fishing, which will indeed be a unique site for those visiting this place for the first time. The beach is ideal for taking a walk and also for moderate swimming activities.

Transportation and Accommodation
The Kovalam beaches are only 16 kms away from Thiruvananthapuram city, which is well connected to the other major places by air, rail and road. This makes it easy for you to reach and visit the amazing beaches of Kovalam. You can either hire a public bus, auto rickshaws taxis etc to reach this place.
