Paithalmala Hill Station
Paithalmala hill station is a small and beautiful hill station in the Kannur District of Kerala. This hill station in Kannur is geographically located near Pottenplave village. This spot is at a height of 1372 meters above sea level, making it the highest peak in Kannur. The Paithalmala hill station lies in the Western Ghats and is situated in the Kerala-Karnataka border near to the Kodagu Forests.
The Paithalmala hill station has a cool climatic conditions and a good eco friendly nature. Paithalmala hill has a limited access and is hence less untouched by the tourists. The first season for trekking in Paithalmala hills is during the Monsoon season, which falls between June to October and during this time the mist covers the hills and forest like a blanket.
Another season for trekking in Paithalmala is during the summer which is between January to May. During this time the trekking path will be more clear and easy for tourists. The only difficulty during the summer is the extreme heat that might make you feel tired. Trekkers also can also have an amazing opportunity to take a dip in the cool waters of Ezharakundu Waterfalls, which on the trekking route.
