Athirappilly Waterfalls, Kerala

Situated in the Athirappilly Panchayat in Chalakudy Taluk of Thrissur District, the Athirappilly waterfalls starts from the upper reaches of the Western Ghats at the beginning of the Sholayar ranges. With a height of 80 feet, the Athirappilly waterfall is the largest in Kerala and is very near to the Vazhachal falls.

About Athirappilly Waterfalls in Kerala

The Athirappilly waterfalls is surrounded by dense green forest which is home to some of the most unique and rarest species of flora and fauna, which are worth watching. As the Athirappilly falls is the largest in Kerala, it is also known as “The Niagara of India”.

There is also another small waterfall called Charpa falls, which is located on the way between Vazhachal and Athirappilly waterfalls, by the side of the road.
