Thuvanam Waterfalls, Chinnar, Kerala
The cascade of the water flow is River Pambar and is one of the major sources of drinking water for animals living in the sanctuary. Thuvanam waterfalls is also a perfect place for trekking and people are seen taking trekking activities around the Thoovanam waterfalls. The Thoovanam waterfalls is around 60 km away from the Munnar town.
The Thoovanam waterfalls is located deep inside the Chinnar wildlife sanctuary and is one of the best place to enjoy the sights of wild flora and fauna here. Here you can get the opportunity to view a variety of wild animals and birds, which are not much seen in other parts of Kerala.
Thuvanam trek starts from Alampatty forest check post and takes almost an hour to reach the waterfall. Guides are available for the trek and Waterfall trek tickets should also be arranged for the trek. Thuvanam is considered to be one of the best places for trekking near Chinnar Wildlife sanctuary and a lot of adventure lovers are seen enjoying trekking over this place. This trekking experience itself makes Thoovanam different from other waterfalls in Munnar. The trek starts from Alampatty Forest check post and it will around one hour to reach the waterfalls.
The trek at this place is usually arranged between 7 AM to 10 AM and 3 PM to 6 PM and you should plan your trekking activities based on this time.
